Point Reyes National Seashore

On a clear yet cold day we drive up north on 101 to visit Point Reyes National Seashore about 30 miles north of San Francisco. We walked down the 308 steps down to the lighthouse and also saw a small group of elephant seals which were raising their young pups. After our stay at the park we drove back over the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco and had an early dinner at Mel's Diner on Geary.

After a short visit at the Bear Valley Visitor Center we drive out to Ken Patrick Visitor Center to board the shuttle out to the lighthouse. Here is Toby by Drake's Beach.

After we disembark from the shuttle we walk toward the lighthouse, here I am with Point Reyes beach in the background.

Alan by the 1870's lighthouse.

It's time to head up the 308 stairs (equivalent to a 30 story building)

Toby rests at the top of the hill with the very long Point Reyes beach in the background.

The second shuttle stop brought us to the elephant seal overlook.
