October 6
Pescadero and Half Moon Bay

On a nice sunny October Saturday, we head over the coast early to check out the Half Moon Bay pumpkin farms. We first stop off at Poplar Beach in Half Moon Bay, and then drive down the coast to Pescadero where we had lunch at Duarte's Tavern. After an early lunch we stop off at Arata's Pumpkin Farm off of Hwy 1 to take photos of pumpkins but we didn't purchase any.

Morning along the Half Moon Bay coastline.

Fwee! Alan at Poplar Beach, Half Moon Bay.

This huge expanse of beach stretches along Half Moon Bay coast.

The little town of Pescadero about 10 miles south of Half Moon Bay, here is the outside of Duarte's Tavern.

We have an early lunch at Duarte's, I have the french dip sandwich (and a glass of wine!)

The popular Arata's Pumpkin Farm.

The huge farm had numerous attraction for kids: sleigh rides, train, mazes, etc.

In the middle of a corn field they had thousands of pumpkins layed out.

Pumpkins everywhere.

Interesting heystack structures dotted the corn fields.

We didn't purchase any pumpkins... hee hee.
