Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

I take Friday off from work to spend the day at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo with Susanne and her friend Mary, who is on vacation from Jacksonville, Florida; and Patrick, Jan and Mike’s son.

Friday morning I meet up with everyone at Jan and Mike's home in Menlo Park, then we all hop into Susanne's Accord for the drive up to Vallejo. We arrive at the park just as they opened at 10:30am and quickly headed over to Medusa. After riding the front row on Medusa, we head over to Roar (yeaaa!...ouch!), then over to Vertical Velocity and Roar. Then we stopped for lunch before watching the 1pm Shouka Killer Whale show. Afterwards we stroll through the animal exhibits like the giraffes, tigers, and cougars. Back to the rides... we head over for Tony Hawke's Big Spin and one more ride on Medusa (where I miraculously recovered my lost black cap). We head out of the park by 4:30pm and over to San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood for dinner at the Stinking Rose restaurant on Columbus Ave. We had a fun day, perfect weather, no crowds... FWEEEE!
