October 9

On a nice warm sunny autumn day we head south to the quaint beach side community of Capitola. We arrive before noon before the big crowds arrived and strolled the beachside walk to watch surfers catch the waves. For lunch we went to Paradise Grille and sat outside on the patio overlooking the river. After lunch we strolled over the bridge to the beach on the other side of the river where we sat and relaxed on the sand for a couple of hours. We took numerous photos of the picturesque Venetian Motel with it's colorful stucco buildings, they reminded us of the color homes on the island of Burano in Italy. Once we had enough sun we strolled to the end of Capitola Wharf. From the wharf we walked along the river on the small trail that meanders by quaint homes and their backyards. Then we strolled through the streets of downtown Capitola. before heading back home.
