Death Valley National Park

(Use above nativation bar for quick access to specific days)

We spend three days visiting Death Valley National Park on the northern Mojave Desert. This park known for it's extremes: The lowest elevation in North America at -282 feet, and the location of the highest temperature ever recorded on earth: 134 degrees F.

We fly from San Francisco to Las Vegas on Virgin America and then rent a 2013 Ford Escape (Enterprise Car Rental) and then drive 2 hours west toward Death Valley. We stay in a cabin at the Furnace Creek Ranch for two nights.

This national park visit was very different and unique from the other national parks we've visited in the past. The bare terrain, unusual geologic formations and wide expanses often made us feel like we were on another planet.
