Birthday Dinner at the Tonga Room in San Francisco

Toby treats me to a nice birthday dinner at the Tonga Room at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. We endure the horrendous traffic to head up to the city but had a nice time at the famed restaurant built around the former indoor swimming pool. We both had the Aina Ahiahi Ma'alahi 'ohana style dinner which started off with kona pork rib, shiitake mushroom egg roll and spicy chicken wing appetizers. We then had broccoli beef, kung pao prawns and grilled Hawaii ono for entrees with a side of schezwan green beans and rice, for dessert we had a 'coconut dome'. I enhanced the dinner with three strong mai tais!! After dinner we headed across the street to the Mark Hopkins and went up to the Top of the Mark for some spectacular views of the city. Thanks for the birthday dinner!
